Memorials

Susan Hall was the epitome of a dedicated veterinarian. Graduating from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, she returned home to care for the animals of Fairfax County, working for Dr. Fred Garrison at Centreville Animal Hospital. Her passion and energy to provide shelter, medical care and advocacy for all animals, domestic or wild was unlimited. Those who studied and worked closely with her during her veterinary education and after were beyond inspired by her limitless interests and concerns for all animals. Examples of her vast network of influence included many adoring coworkers, politicians, rescue groups, ACO/shelter facilities and show/breed groups. After her death, county representatives built and dedicated a group of exercise runs to honor her legacy and ensure her lasting touch on animals in need in Fairfax County. The plaque outside the Fairfax County Animal Shelter says it all: "Though her years were short, her contributions are many and her legacy, large. The citizens of Fairfax County will forever remember Dr. Susan Hall, and her life will serve as a shining standard for generations to come."
