Dr. Jones-Reitzloff was a valued member of our CVM community and the Class of 1993. Her contributions to the college and the profession of veterinary medicine have made a lasting impact. She will continue to be remembered fondly and missed dearly.

Obituary

Dr. Barbara Jones-Reitzloff, DVM, died March 5, 2008 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Allen Reitzloff; two daughters, Madison Lee Reitzloff, 11 and Elizabeth Ann Reitzloff, 7; her mother, Mrs. Barbara Hafford Jones; her father, Col. David Leland Jones (Ret.); her sisters, Anastasia Coralyn Theodoridis and Wendy Kurry; her brother, Michael D. Jones; five nieces and a nephew.

Dr. Reitzloff graduated from the Madeira School in McLean, Virginia, in 1975 and lived and died its motto, "Function in disaster, finish with style." She also graduated from Michigan State University and the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine of Virginia Tech.

She practiced at the Carroll County Veterinary Clinic in Westminster, Maryland, until the end of last year. She was a member of St. Mark's Church (Orthodox Church in America) in Bethesda. The family will receive visitors at the Burier-Queen Funeral Home in Sykesville, Maryland, on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
