Obituary

Erica Dawn Geary, born June 14, 1988, passed too soon from grace to glory on April 3, 2015.

Erica's beautiful smile and her love for life, people, animals, and her dear Lord left a deep and lasting impression on everyone she knew. Erica grew up and was homeschooled in Damascus, Maryland then graduated from Grove City College in 2010 with a degree in Molecular Biology. She went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree--her life's goal-- from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia in 2014. She loved her work as a doctor at the Ridge Animal Hospital in Farmville, VA, where she had been practicing for the last 10 months. She had the privilege of participating in many mission trips to places such as Haiti and Nicaragua and most recently, to Mongolia where she planned to return as a full time veterinary missionary. Besides-her work, Erica loved to create beautiful paintings and items that reflected her love of God and she spent much time in the mountains and with her many friends. She could often be found singing and playing guitar, writing encouraging notes to others, sharing her joy. Even though she will be sorely missed, we are comforted in knowing that she is now more alive, more with us, and happier than she ever was here on earth.

Erica is survived by her parents, Paul and Janet Geary of Damascus, MD; a brother, Matthew Geary; grandparents Rev. & Mrs. Carl Geary of Pottsville, PA; and Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Lee of Hopewell ,VA; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends (both animal and human).

A memorial service for Erica will be held at Shady Grove Presbyterian Church in Derwood, MD. on Saturday ,April 11at 1p.m. The family will receive visitors at the church prior to the service.
