Drew Whittier was a valued member of our CVM community and the Class of 2015. His contributions to the college made a lasting impact; losing Drew was a loss to all of veterinary medicine. He will continue to be remembered fondly and missed dearly.

Obituary
Drew Eli Whittier honorably finished his struggle with cancer on Saturday, July 14, 2012. He packed a huge amount of love, achievement, fun, learning, service, and faith into only 25 years. Drew was a student at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He held a degree in Biology from Brigham Young University. He loved learning and mastering skills.
Drew was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Budapest Hungary Mission for two years. He had served as a Ward Executive Secretary, Home Teaching Supervisor and as a Cub Scout leader. His faith in Christ gave him great peace in his battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tiffany of Christiansburg; his parents, William Dee and Mary Lou Whittier of Blacksburg; and his grandmother, Barbara D. Whittier of Morgan, Utah. He has seven surviving brothers and sisters and their spouses, William Brooks and Nicole Whittier of Spotsylvania, Melissa Ann and Kyle David Hardman of North Las Vegas, NV, Justin Reed Whittier and Kiera (Jersey) Welch of Eagle Mountain, Cherise and Matthew Vincent Alva of Lantana, Texas, Shane Morgan and Jamie Lyn Whittier of Heber City, Utah, Heath Chandler and Anika Whittier of Provo, Utah and Troy Dickson Whittier of Jackson Hole, Wyo. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Drew loved life, his church, his family, his many friends, animals, hunting and fishing, playing sports and veterinary medicine.
All friends are invited to call at the Horne Funeral Home for the visitation between 6 and 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2012. Horne is located at 1300 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, VA. There will also be a visitation at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 510 Porter Street, Blacksburg, Virginia on Monday morning, July 16, 2012 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The funeral service, under the direction of Bishop Mark E. Peterson, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 510 Porter Street, Blacksburg, Virginia. Drew will be buried in Peterson, Morgan, Utah on July 21, 2012. There will be a memorial service that same day in Morgan, Utah.
