Obituary

ZIELEZIENSKI-ROBERTS, KAREN L., age 49 of Davie, Florida, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 22, 2010. Karen, affectionately known as Dr. Z, a well-known avian veterinarian in south Florida was currently practicing at Plantation Animal Hospital in Plantation Florida, and previously practiced at Academy Animal Hospital in Fort Lauderdale.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 29th at Fred Hunter Funeral Home on 2401 S. University Drive in Davie, FL, at 12:30 pm. A service will follow at 2:15 pm.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband David, their daughter Rebecca and son Mitchell, her mother Billie Rose, her mother-in-law Nancy, her brother Stef, his wife Toni, nephew Matthew, and niece Emma who all mourn her passing.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Roberts Children College Fund (acct. #132539886) held at Regions Bank, 4725 S. Flamingo Rd., Cooper City. FL, 33330.

This very special and beloved woman received the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Her love of birds led her to a 23 year devotion to the health of these creatures. She was well respected and a pioneer in her field. Her excellence in this area led her to be invited to veterinary conferences as a key speaker.

Unknown to many was Karens love of art and antiques, and she herself was an accomplished artist, musician and member of MENSA. To know Karen was to love her. The consolation we have is that her memory will be ingrained in every life she has touched.
